Bicycling into the town of Melk, Austria

A village between Krem and Melk

Our bicycle trip today was through the rolling hills of the wine country in Austria. On both sides of the path vineyard’s stretch high up onto the rocky hillsides. We past several old castles and thru villages that have existed since the Renaissance. The bicycle panniers are  loaded with apricot marmalade, handmade candles and apricot brandy wiith 30 km left to ride. I thought the pack was supposed to get lighter as we rode along.

We have been blessed the entire trip with good weather. Today was sunny with no cloud in the sky. Last weeks group bicycled in the rain and we just had a few drops. Too bad that at the end of a weeks cycling you feel like you are strong enough go another 300 miles.
