Paris at last

We started our day with a visit to the Louvre. The building is unequaled with its world famous examples of art and sculpture. We took photos of many of the paintings and statues that we see in art books. The Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and other well-known works. The sheer size of the collection and the beauty of the museum are staggering.

After the museum, we walked several miles to the Eiffel Tower. Apparently there was some technical problem with the power to the tower and the lines even to walk up the stairs were very long. After our walk to get there, we were content to take photos and then hop on board a boat to travel down the Seine River to the Cathedral of Notre Dame. There we hung out on the Left Bank; sipping our espresso and watching the art scene that we have previously only read about.
